'Behemoth mastermind Adam 'Nergal' Darski has once again entered into a dark pact with the devil and returns with the third studio album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2, of the dark folk/blues/Americana-inspired solo project ME AND THAT MAN (release date: November 19, 2021 via Napalm Records).
As a continuation of its predecessor New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1 (2020), the new work follows the previous creative path and once again presents a wealth of exciting features - but this time taking them to a whole new level! The new album is supported by greats such as Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), Myrkur, Devin Townsend, David Vincent, Doug Blair (W.A.S.P), Hank von Hell (Turbonegro), and Olve Abbath Eikemo (Immortal, Abbath), who fit perfectly into the collection of occult hymns on the album, forming a novel symbiosis of unfiltered blues, gothic-influenced folk, country essence, and a touch of evil.
The opening track 'Black Hearse Cadillac' - featuring vocals by Hank von Hell and guitar skills by Anders Odden - marks the dark beginning of this infernal journey through dark desert soundscapes and pitch-black lyrics. The driving 'Under The Spell' (feat. Mary Goore) lives up to its title, occasionally evoking a spaghetti western atmosphere. Songs like the sinful 'Witches Don't Fall in Love' (feat. Kristoffer Rygg/Ulver), the straight-up rockin' 'Blues & Cocaine' (feat. Michale Graves), and the mysterious 'Goodbye' - including a compelling yet powerful vocal attack by Alissa White-Gluz - showcase the album's great versatility. This is also evident in songs like the heartfelt blues-rock ballad 'Angel of Light' with the captivating voice of Myrkur or the dynamic uptempo crusher 'Got Your Tongue' feat. Chris Georgiadis (Turbowolf).
After the exciting debut Songs of Love And Death (2017), followed by the second release New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1, the new album reflects Nergal in a completely different light and offers a audible contrast to the extreme sounds of Behemoth.
