Razem z gitarzystą Savatage Alem Pitrellim i perkusistą Jimmym DeGrasso (m.in. Black Star Riders), Megadave Mustaine i David Ellefson nagrali "The World Needs A Hero". Rok po premierze zespół zawiesił działalność na trzy lata i powrócił dopiero w 2004 roku z "The System Has Failed").
Megadeth coraz częściej sięga po chwytliwe melodie i średnie tempa, ale wciąż potrafi czarować. Numery takie, jak "Return To The Hangar" i "1000 Times Goodbye" to niesprawiedliwie zapomniane perełki.
