Folk is just in the blood if this guy. With the fourth album „Till Midnight“ Chuck Ragan works with new sounds which ring out confidently and almost optimistically.


For his new album “Till Midnight” Chuck Ragan collected some kind of „Revival-Tour“-line-up. Including guitarist Todd Beene (Lucero), drummer David Hidalgo Jr. (Social Distortion), his long-term companion Jon Gaunt (violin) and Joe Ginsberg (contrabass), guest singers Dave Hause, Jon Snodgrass and Chad Price (Drag the River), Ben Nichols (Lucero) and Jenny O. as well as keyboard player Rami Jaffee (The Wallflowers).

"Till Midnight" is however a turning point in the solo career of the wongwriter. If you compare it to the forerunner album "Covering Ground", which was almost only occupied with the boon and bane of touring, the constant arrivals and the lonely hours of a "Nomad By Fate", it stands out, lots if about love now. Also new, that Ragan for the first time in his career is confident about showing other influences of his musical background. “Something May Catch Fire" is brilliant with fragments which would also suit a Neil Young very well. And in between the style of Creedence Clearwater Revival sparkles.
